The best waterproof fabrics for outdoor use
Water and moisture are one of the main enemies of furniture. If liquids seep through the fabric and reach the fillings, they can cause mould, unpleasant odours and damage.
To avoid this, within our in&out collection, at Jover we have developed a line of fabrics with a waterproof and breathable membrane on the back, which prevents liquids from filtering through and provides maximum protection for furniture that is highly exposed outdoors.
How do waterproof fabrics work?
At Jover we have been manufacturing outdoor fabrics for more than a decade, applying the latest technologies to offer the best quality products.
We add a thin, porous membrane to the back of our fabrics to make them waterproof and breathable. This membrane allows the fabric to breathe without water infiltration, and because it is placed on the reverse side, the fabric looks completely natural.
We also apply TEFLON technology on the front of the fabric to repel liquids and protect the filling or the inside of the furniture.
Where to use waterproof upholstery fabrics?
Our WaterProof collection can be used on many types of furniture, such as armchairs, sofas, chairs, cushions or mats. They are also very useful on tablecloths to protect tables from leaking liquids.
Fabrics used outdoors, especially if they have a swimming pool, should always be waterproof. This will improve the comfort of the furniture, mat or cushion, which will always remain dry even if it gets wet. Our WaterProof fabrics are highly resistant to chlorinated and salt water.
FABRICS USED OUTDOORS
MUST REPEL LIQUIDS
They are not only very practical in the swimming pool, but also on any terrace, because they are very exposed to rain. In addition, they have TEFLON technology, which repels liquids and allows you to clean any kind of stain very easily.
The upholstery of a watercraft should also be waterproof to improve comfort and prevent it from being quickly damaged by wear and tear.
We use the latest generation of waterproof fabrics, which have been tested to certify their resistance to liquids.
- Test of resistance to penetration of water under pressure EN 20811: 1993. Download certificate
- Spray test EN ISO 4920:2012. Download certificate
